Description
Gaja Barolo Dagromis is an elegant expression of Barolo, one of Italy's most prestigious appellations. This wine stands out for its aromas of violet, rose petals and white pepper that emerge gracefully from the glass. On the palate, it offers a pleasant freshness with notes of red orange and grapefruit. It is fragrant, medium-bodied and well-balanced. Despite an initial dry sensation due to the oak, it softens with time, presenting noticeable but fine tannins. It is on the verge of blossoming, and its harmonious complexity bodes well for promising ageing potential.
Winemaking
The Nebbiolo grapes for this wine come from vineyards located in both Serralunga and La Morra. As for the winemaking process, it is important to note that the grapes from each vineyard are fermented, macerated and aged in wood for 12 months completely separately. They are then blended and aged in oak for a further 18 months.
