Description
Estrany Solidari is an orange wine made exclusively from Xarel-lo grapes by Celler Credo in the Penedès DO in Catalonia, Spain.
The grapes used to produce Estrany Solidari were planted in soils with calcareous nodules and loamy texture in the Serral del Bosc vineyard.
This vineyard located in the Alt Penedès region is cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. In the winery, the must is left to macerate with the skins in open oak vats for about a week. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeast from the Celler Credo vineyard in stainless steel tanks.
After that, the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks on fine lees for 5 months and bottled with minimal intervention.
Taste
Estrany Solidari is an orange wine that offers deep herbal aromas, with floral and fruity nuances and the typical influences of maceration with the skins.
In the mouth it is voluminous and fresh. It is perfumed with a present but balanced acidity, an original expression of the Xarel-lo grape variety.
A wine that is the pure expression of Xarel-lo.
Estrany Solidari is an expressive wine that conveys the direct, honest and transparent style of the wines of the Celler Credo winery.
Its name translates as "Strange and Solidarity" and part of the profits go to programmes to end poverty and the social exclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.
Its purpose is to unite wine territory and social sensitivity. In addition, it recovers an ancestral wayof making wine, when white grapes were macerated with their skins. It is simply extraordinary!
In the gastronomic field, it is a special wine to accompany white meats, smoked meats, spicy dishes and rice.
