Description
Derain La Combe Bourgogne Blanc is a natural white wine, created by the Dominique Derain winery, located in the Saint Aubin region of Burgundy, France. This winery produces many high quality natural wines, such as the aforementioned one.
Winemaking
The production of Derain La Combe Bourgogne Blanc comes from a small plot of less than a third of a hectare, located in the village of Puligny-Montrachet in the south of Burgundy, which means that the production of this wine is limited.
The grapes for the production of Derain La Combe Bourgogne Blanc are harvested by hand and vinified spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels. Finally, it is aged in the barrels where it is fermented for a period of 12 months.
Taste
Derain La Combe Bourgogne Blanc is a young and light wine. A variety of citrus, earthy and tree fruit notes can be appreciated in its taste, as well as aromas that are truly convincing.
The legacy continues
Dominique Derain is a maker of fabulous wines, including the lovely Derain La Combe Bourgogne Blanc. Originally a barrel maker, a few years later he decided to venture into the world of winemaking.
Then in the late 1980s Dominique Derain decided to develop as a winemaker. In 2016 Dominique sold his winery to Julien Altaber and Carole Schwab of Domaine Sextant, two young employees who saw him as a master.
Today, the new owners are working on the continuity of Dominique Derain, respecting his legacy and what he learned with his mentor.
