Description
Constantina Sotelo Misturas is a natural white wine made by Constantina Sotelo, one of the pioneers in the production of natural wines in Galicia. Since 1985, Constantina has personally overseen the viticulture and winemaking in the family vineyards located in the Salnés Valley, near the Ría de Arousa. The wine is a blend of free-standing vineyard plots, cultivated under the principles of minimal intervention and respectful viticulture.
Winemaking
The grapes used are mainly Albariño, coming from granitic soils only 1 km from the sea, which gives the wine a marked minerality. The winemaking process includes a manual harvest, direct pressing and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Part of the wine is fermented in French oak barrels and another part in concrete eggs, where it is also aged for seven months, providing complexity and structure.
Taste
On the palate, Constantina Sotelo Misturas offers an explosion of green fruits, with a predominance of green apple and subtle notes of white flowers. The acidity is vibrant and very well integrated, leaving a fresh and mineral reminiscence, typical of Atlantic wines. Its ageing on fine lees gives it a smooth, creamy texture, while the touch of butter in the background gives it a round, elegant finish. Ageing in oak and concrete adds a lemon confit profile and a slight reductive sensation that balances the whole, making Misturas a perfect wine to enjoy with seafood or fish.
