Description
Carmelo Rodero Crianza is a sample of oenological dedication, coming from a historic winery located in Pedrosa de Duero, in Ribera del Duero, which combines family tradition with innovation. This wine is made from 90% Tempranillo (Tinta del País) and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, from vineyards over 30 years old. Located at altitudes of between 750 and 850 metres, these vineyards benefit from tertiary sedimentary soils, rich in silty sands and calcareous layers, which bring complexity to the vines. The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully selected in the field.
Winemaking
Regarding the elaboration and ageing of Carmelo Rodero Crianza, the use of a gravity vinification system without the intervention of pumps, which allows for a gentle handling of the wine, stands out. Malolactic fermentation is carried out both in oak barrels and in stainless steel tanks, while ageing takes place in French oak barrels for 15 months, giving this wine its characteristic woody notes and balanced structure.
Taste
Carmelo Rodero Crianza displays a bouquet of red fruits typical of Tempranillo, accompanied by subtle hints of pepper and liquorice. On the palate, the wine is round and silky, medium-bodied, with sweet tannins that provide a pleasant texture and a long, lingering aftertaste. Its well-integrated acidity makes it a wine of excellent balance, leaving notes of tobacco and wood on the palate that enhance its personality.
