Description
Barrat Masson Fleur de Craie Extra Brut is a champagne delight that comes from the house of Barrat Masson. This sparkling wine is 100% Chardonnay, a grape variety that stands out for its freshness and finesse. Produced in Fleur de Craie plots, the Chardonnays of this cuvée manifest themselves with unparalleled freshness and finesse. Its colour is pale gold, accompanied by a fine and persistent effervescence. The bouquet is subtle, highlighting the elegance of white flowers, with hints of pear and hints of grilled and biscuit notes beginning to emerge.
Winemaking
Barrat Masson Fleur de Craie Extra Brut ismade from grapes from vineyards over 40 years old located in Villenauxe-la-Grande and Bethon, in the south of the Côte de Sezanne, where the soil is composed of chalk and clay. After the first fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine rests for 9 months on lees in stainless steel tanks (80%) and used barrels of various sizes (20%). It is also aged for 30 months in the bottle on the lees for the second fermentation and the formation of foam. Finally, disgorgement is carried out without expedition liqueur (added sugars).
Taste
Barrat Masson Fleur de Craie Extra Brut has a pale lemon colour and fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it awakens aromas of green fruit, with floral notes, a touch of spice, herbaceous, citrus, mineral and a light essence of pastries. On the palate, there is high acidity and an average alcohol content of 12%. The carbonic is perfectly integrated, giving a refreshing and slightly youthful sensation on the palate. Undoubtedly, a perfect choice for those looking for a wine with character and personality.
