Description
Abel Mendoza 5V is the highest quality white wine in the Abel Mendoza portfolio. The only one made from the five native grapes of La Rioja: Viura, Malvasía, Garnacha Blanca, Tempranillo Blanco and Torrontés. Impressive, isn't it?
This is an exclusive wine with a very limited production. The grapes come from a single vineyard in the Rioja town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. All of them are grown organically with great effort in the vineyards, and biodynamic preparations are used, taking into account the astral cycle of the vineyard.
Elaboration
The grapes are harvested by hand in the vineyard and a first selection is made. A second selection is made at the winery table.
The wine is fermented in new French oak barrels and matured for 5 months on its fine lees.
Taste
It is a sophisticated white wine with a lot of flavor that is also very well balanced. It has an unctuous and strong flavor. Fruits will start to appear on the nose.
It is light and fresh, with good transparency and purity. The wine is not lacking in power (it has 14% alcohol), but it is more delicate and focuses on nuances and finesse.
Elegant and creamy
Abel Mendoza 5V is a rich wine with many subtleties. Abel seeks the grandeur and elegance of Burgundy wines in this wine, which he achieves by highlighting the ripe white fruit compote on a very luscious background of very well assembled toasty notes.
