Description
Vincent Charlot Clos Des Futies Extra Brut is an exceptional wine coming from a small eponymous vineyard located in Epernay. This vineyard, called "Clos des Futies", has 0.18 hectares and has two different types of soil: chalk, where Chardonnay grows, and clay, destined to Pinot Noir. The vineyard was planted in the 1990s and is certified organic and biodynamic.
Winemaking
This champagne is composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and gently pressed. The fermentation of the wine takes place spontaneously in used oak barrels with a neutral toasting. Malolactic fermentation does not take place, and the wine rests in the same barrels on fine lees for approximately 11 months. It is bottled and aged on the lees for a minimum of 8 years for secondary fermentation and foaming. The final dosage is approximately 4g/l, classifying it as an Extra Brut.

Vincent Charlot Clos Des Futies Extra Brut is a wine with a truly exceptional personality. It is rich, intense and complex, but at the same time incredibly drinkable. This champagne delights with a cornucopia of flavours and aromas, from peaches, baked apples and blood oranges to more vegetal tones and dried fruits. The finish is lingering, highlighting mineral tones and vibrant acidity. This wine is ideal with Asian or fusion dishes, showing its best when given the time it deserves, and perhaps, gently swirled through a decanter.
