Description
Villa Bucci Rosso Piceno is an oenological gem from Le Marche, Italy, produced by the prestigious Villa Bucci winery, renowned for its dedication and respect for winemaking traditions since the 17th century. This wine is composed of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese from vineyards over 30 years old. The vineyards are located in the Castelli di Jesi region, characterised by hills close to the sea, which provide a unique climatic influence. The soils, predominantly calcareous clay, provide excellent drainage and contribute to the complexity of the wine.
Winemaking
After careful manual harvesting, the grapes are meticulously selected to ensure the highest quality. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, preserving the purity of the fruit and highlighting the varietal aromas. The wine is then aged for 12 months in large used oak barrels, allowing controlled micro-oxygenation to soften the tannins and develop complex nuances. Finally, the process is completed with 6 months in bottle, ensuring harmonious integration and a balanced structure that reflects the terroir and the artisanal philosophy of Villa Bucci.
Taste
To the eye, Villa Bucci Rosso Piceno has a deep ruby red colour. The nose displays a complex bouquet with notes of dried violets, citrus peel, ripe plums and wild blueberries. The palate is silky in texture, with fresh red fruit flavours and subtle floral tones. Fine tannins and balanced acidity lead to a long, spicy finish, with hints of liquorice lingering elegantly.
