The younger wine here is the 2020 Viña Alberdi, a versatile version of the Haro reds. It was produced with Tempranillo fermented in stainless steel and matured in American oak barrels for two years (it's sold as Reserva in international markets and Crianza in Spain). It has 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.6 and five grams of acidity. It has a classical nose of ripe fruit, American oak and spices, the subtle notes of forest floor, still young. The palate is velvety and very balanced with polished tannins. Approachable but should also age. 650,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2023.

Description
Viña Alberdi Crianza is a red wine made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes. The grapes come from estates with an average age of over 40 years, located in Rodezno and Labastida de La Rioja Alta, S.A. These vineyards are located at an altitude of between 500 and 600 metres above sea level on clay-limestone soils.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and the bunches are selected in the field and transported to the winery refrigerated in boxes that maintain their integrity. The vinification process is carried out after a gentle destemming and crushing. Afterwards, the grapes are transferred to the tanks where they complete the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in a natural way.
The ageing is carried out with an ageing process of 24 months in American oak barrels of our own manufacture, new the first year and four uses the second year.
Taste
In the mouth it is a wine with a good structure and a pleasant balance between acidity and alcohol, with soft, sweet and round tannins and a pleasant final sensation.

Viña Alberdi Crianza is a very elegant red wine, with a fresh and enveloping finish that invites you to drink. It is a worthy representative of the wines of La Rioja.
This red wine stands out for its gastronomic versatility. It is ideal as an accompaniment to aperitifs, snacks, appetizers and barbecues, and is perfect with rice dishes, pastas and creams, as well as with grilled meats and mild fish.
