Description
Since 1626, the Trimbach family has cultivated a philosophy of purity and precision, making Riesling its most faithful standard-bearer. Today, Pierre Trimbach continues this centuries-old tradition by personally selecting the parcels that will give birth to Trimbach Alsace Riesling, a wine that embodies the soul of Alsace. 25% of the grapes come from Grand Cru vineyards, where the stony, chalky soils, combined with the dry, cool climate of the Vosges, offer ideal conditions for expressing the purest Riesling character. The aim here is not voluptuousness or sweetness, but tension, transparency and verticality.
Winemaking
The grapes for Trimbach Alsace Riesling are gently pressed in pneumatic presses and fermented in stainless steel tanks and old oak vats at controlled temperatures. There is no malolactic fermentation or long ageing on the lees: the aim is to preserve the natural acidity, energy and freshness that define the style of this wine. After fermentation, Trimbach Alsace Riesling rests in the cellar for at least one year before release.
Taste
Trimbach Alsace Riesling is the definition of Alsatian precision. Its nose opens with notes of lemon, lime zest and white pear, accompanied by subtle hints of acacia blossom and a distant echo of dried tropical fruit. On the palate, it is dry, sharp and vibrant, with firm acidity supporting the whole. The texture is taut and mineral, with a fine salinity that runs through the palate like an electric current. The finish is long, citrusy and clean, with notes of green apple and candied orange adding serene complexity. It is a wine without artifice, honest and direct, ideal to accompany delicate dishes such as ceviche, steamed fish or a classic Alsatian tarte flambée. A serious, uncompromising Riesling that shows the natural elegance of Alsace in its purest form.
