Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The dry white 2022 Mountain Blanco comes from a very dry year of healthy grapes harvested between August 17th and September 23rd. It has 13.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.28 and 4.87 grams of acidity, bone dry and coming through as balanced by freshness. This is bottled unoaked. It's a wine that is labor intensive, because the skins are very hard and the pressing is hard and takes a long time. The nose is very original, with purity, spicy and herbal. I think this wine could go well with Thai food. It's crunchy and peppery, spicy and herbal, with a long, dry finish. It was a low-yielding year. This feels light but has good concentration, and it has a lot of finesse and intensity. 12,035 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2023.

Description
Mountain Blanco is a dry white wine produced by Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez. It is produced in the Sierras de Málaga region, specifically in the villages of Cómpeta and Árchez. This wine is distinguished by its aromatic intensity and complexity in the mouth. The variety used for its production is 100% Moscatel de Alejandría. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level on stony, fine-textured soils, developed from Paleozoic schist.
Winemaking
The viticulture is traditional, with vineyards in polyculture of vines and olive trees, and the grapes are harvested by hand. The winemaking process includes pressing in oil presses with esparto grass hoods and ageing is carried out in stainless steel tanks, thus maintaining the freshness and balance of the wine.
Taste
Mountain Blanco stands out for its herbal aroma with hints of nettle, being floral and fruity on the nose. On the palate, it is a dry wine, with spicy touches and a great freshness, characteristics that make it ideal to accompany oily fish and seafood. Despite its freshness, it does not lack corpulence and has a finish with a slight bitter touch that adds complexity.
