Description
The Morgon Elles wine is a red wine produced with gamay grapes, which is classified among the special examples of this winery, as it was elaborated by Jean Foillard's wife and her friend Nadine.
It is a wine whose grapes come from the Cote du Py vineyard, which have been treated under artisanal techniques, resulting in a red wine with a beautiful clarity and a particular silkiness and lightness.
Winemaking
The winery's farming techniques, as well as the use of the fruit's native yeasts and long carbonic macerations at low temperatures, are elements that characterise this specimen, resulting in a wine of immense purity and finesse.
To make this red wine, the fruit is harvested by hand without destemming. It is then subjected to a process of cold carbonic maceration at 7°, before fermenting for 4 weeks.
In the last phase, no chemicals are added that could alter the original flavour of the fruit, nor preservatives. Finally, it undergoes a vinification process for 4 to 5 months in stainless steel barrels.
Taste
The Morgon Elles wine is an example of red fruits, spicy notes and an accentuated floral touch. It is characterised by its particular minerality, due to the type of soil where the fruit is grown.
