Description
The Benjé Blanco de Envínate is a wine that stands out for being an aged white liqueur. It is a wine made from the best Listan Blanco grapes. The freshness in its flavour and the unmistakable aroma provided by the grapes and white fruits, together with the subtle touch of flowers, citrus fruits and aromatic herbs make the tasting experience special.
It is made from vines up to 105 years old, by Bodega Envínate in Santiago del Teide, Tenerife, at an altitude of 1,000 metres above sea level.
Elaboration
For the production of this white wine, the grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in a mixture of concrete tanks and open vats. Seventy-five percent of the fruit is extracted and the remaining 25 percent together with the skins. In addition, it undergoes a maceration process that can last between 24 to 40 days, with temperatures between 18 and 30 degrees Celsius.
It is then left to rest for 8 months in French barrels made of 60% concrete without battonage or added sulphur. The wine is bottled unfiltered and has an alcohol content of 12.5%.
Taste
The Envínate Benjé White is a white wine with a high tone. It shows its origin from volcanic soils with smoky notes that give a hint of orchard fruit, yet with a reinforced acidity driven by the Atlantic. It is described as a fresh, fluid and complex wine.
On the other hand, its aroma is reminiscent of a variety of scents over a mineral background.
A different and exclusive wine
For some, the Benjé is special, different. Some say it is deliciously acidic and salty, with an exclusive taste, not for the masses, but a fascinating wine to drink in the right circumstances with the perfect company. It is also ideal with prawns, seafood, fish, salads, pork or roasts.
Without a doubt, you will live a unique experience when tasting this variety of Benjé. Have you already tasted any version of this wine? Tell us about your experience.
