Ceretto Barbaresco Bernadot 2019

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2016 Barbaresco Bernadot takes the intensity level up a notch when compared to the base Barbaresco that I tasted immediately before this wine. The Bernadot is silky and fine with a pretty embroidery of floral aromas, cola, grilled herb and balsam herb. It will enjoy a long cellar life, at least a decade, but this wine is also perfect for near and medium-term drinking. Some 10,600 bottles were made.

Description
Ceretto Barbaresco Bernadot comes from the prestigious Piedmont region of Italy and is a pure expression of the Nebbiolo grape variety. The 2019 vintage of the Barbaresco Bernadot presents itself with a dark and austere character, but with wonderful nuances of ripe red fruit. The tannins are silky and delicate, showing great finesse, typical of the Barbaresco area. It is an elegant and very expressive wine, being one of winemaker Alessandro Ceretto's favourites.
Winemaking
The production of this wine focuses on the meticulous selection of Nebbiolo grapes of the highest quality. After the harvest, the grapes are taken to the winery where they are carefully selected and crushed. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature, followed by a period of maturation in French oak barrels.
