Features

Description

The sparkling Cazé Thibaut Les Leriens is an extraordinary vintage champagne, especially considering its price range. This champagne comes from the Vallée de la Marne, on the rive droite of Châtillon sur Marne, a region known for its unique terroir, and favourable for the production of high quality wines, such as its chalky clay and limestone soils.

Winemaking

Cazé Thibaut Les Leriens is a blend of the traditional varieties Chardonnay (45%), Pinot Meunier (45%) and Pinot Noir (10%). This sparkling wine is made with grapes from a single vintage.
The must ferments with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels that have contained between three and six different wines, and then undergoes complete malolactic fermentation. It is then bottled unclarified and unfiltered, to undergo a second fermentation in the bottle with its own lees for a minimum of 44 months. The final dosage is 2.2 grams of sugar per litre (Extra Brut).

Taste

Cazé Thibaut Les Leriens is surprisingly broad and expressive. On the nose, this champagne offers aromas of apple and pear, accompanied by notes of toasted bread and hazelnut, which bring an additional, pleasing complexity to the wine's aromatic profile. On the palate, it is big, opulent, light and precise.
