Description
Carmelo Rodero Reserva is a wine that honours the tradition of a family deeply rooted in the viticulture of Ribera del Duero. With 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is made from 45-year-old vines located in Pedrosa de Duero, at an altitude of between 750 and 850 metres above sea level. The soils in which these vines grow are composed of tertiary sediments of silty and clayey sands, alternating with layers of limestone and marl, which gives a unique complexity to the wine.
Winemaking
Carmelo Rodero Reserva is made using a gravity system and OVI tanks, which guarantees a process that respects the quality of the grapes. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels, and the wine spends 21 months in French oak barrels to achieve an elegant and balanced profile.
Taste
In terms of taste, Carmelo Rodero Reserva offers a rich and enveloping sensory experience. To the eye, it has an intense cherry red colour. On the nose, aromas of ripe fruit stand out, especially black fruits such as black cherry and blackcurrant, complemented by notes of spices. On the palate, it is sweet, dense and perfectly balanced, with fine tannins and a lingering aftertaste that leaves a deep impression.
It is an ideal wine for those looking for a complex and well-structured experience, reflecting the essence of Ribera del Duero and the dedication of the Rodero family.
