Description
Bernard Baudry Les Grézeaux is a concentrated and seductive red wine, known for its dense but silky body, a characteristic attributable to the gravels in its soil. This wine is produced exclusively from the Cabernet Franc grape variety, which is grown on the winery's oldest plot, with vines approximately 50 years old.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring that only the best quality grapes are used in production. The fermentation process is carried out for 15 to 20 days in cement tanks, followed by an ageing period of fifteen months in unlined cement. Finally, bottling takes place two winters after the harvest, without filtration, thus preserving all the natural characteristics of the wine.
Taste
Bernard Baudry Les Grézeaux is a wine remarkable for its complex and aromatic bouquet. It presents notes of violet and dark berries, creating a rich and enveloping olfactory experience. On the palate, this wine is taut, elegant and juicy, with a remarkable chalky texture that adds depth and character. The finish is long and penetrating, marked by structured, firm tannins that add an extra dimension of complexity. Although the presence of phenols may slightly obscure the purest expression of terroir, the telluric power of this parcel comes through clearly, offering a unique and memorable tasting experience. This wine has the ability to age for at least 10 years, and in the best vintages, much longer, allowing its flavours and aromas to evolve and deepen over time.
