Description
Agustí Torelló Gran Reserva Brut Nature is a superior age-worthy cava made from hand-harvested grapes from the Vall d'Anoia-Foix, in the counties of Barcelona. This sparkling wine is organic and vegan-certified, using 100% vegetable-based fining agents. Its composition is based on a blend of native varieties: 36% Macabeo, 14% Xarel-lo and 50% Parellada.
Elaboration
Agustí Torelló Gran Reserva Brut Natureseis made with its own yeasts selected before the harvest of each variety in order to preserve the expression of the soil of origin. Fermentation with its lees lasts 28 days at 16°C. The ageing in the bottle, with a second fermentation in the bottle with its lees, lasts 6 years in the semi-darkness of the cellars, at a constant natural temperature of 17 degrees.
Taste
Agustí Torelló Gran Reserva Brut Nature has a full and complex flavour. On the palate, the carbon dioxide is very well integrated, with notes of ageing that merge with ripe fruit, toasted nuances and dried fruits, resulting in a long and persistent flavour. Visually, it has a pale golden colour with greenish reflections and a fine, small, slowly evolving bubble. On the nose, notes of ripe white fruit are noted without losing its fresh character, especially highlighted by the Parellada. This cava is ideal for pairing with main courses of meat or fish, as well as Asian cuisine. It is recommended to be served between 6 and 8 °C.
