Description
Verónica Ortega VO Versión Original is a red wine made from 100% Mencía by the Verónica Ortega winery.
The grapes come from an old vineyard, located in Valtuille de Abajo (León) D.O. Bierzo.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in 15 kg crates. The vinification process is carried out with stems in order to allow the spontaneous fermentation to take place slowly, with a maceration period of 20 days.
The wine is aged for 13 months in 800-litreterracotta amphorae . Only 3,529 bottles were produced. Before bottling, the wine is lightly filtered to remove coarse particles.
Taste
Verónica Ortega VO Versión Original is a wine with aromatic, fruity and floral expression, balanced and fresh. In the mouth it is fluid, characterised by its freshness and acidity, with good amplitude and quite easy to drink.

Verónica Ortega VO Versión Original is produced following a traditional vinification process faithful to the terroir, with indigenous yeasts and spontaneous fermentation to obtain a wine with character and a lot of personality.
