Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The red 2023 Negre, refers to the black color of the Garnacha grapes grown in clay and sandy soils at 300 to 350 meters above sea level, purchased from growers. It was vinified in stainless steel with full clusters and indigenous yeasts for a week, and the wine matured in stainless steel for six months. It has a bright ruby color, slightly darker than Vèrtebra and Marcenca, more reductive (again the stainless steel) with a nose of herbs and red berry fruit, without any sensation of ripeness (13%) or heat. It's clean, light, fresh and elegant, pretty much the house style with fine tannins and a velvety mouthfeel. Very pretty. 9,700 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2024.
