Description
Strohmeier TLZ Lysegron is a true masterpiece born from the passion and dedication of the Strohmeier winery. Its name, "Lysegrøn", which means "light green" in Danish, is a tribute to the special relationship that Franz, the wine's creator, has with his Danish importer and his loyal customers. Especially with the restaurant Noma, whose passion for its natural wines kept the Strohmeier winery afloat when Austrian customers were wary of its sulphur-free approach.
Winemaking
This wine is made from Weissburgunder, also known as Pinot Blanc. The grapes come from the Bad Gams and Stainz vineyards, characterised by a gneiss soil enriched with significant iron and silica content.
The grapes are harvested by hand, selecting only the healthiest and ripest bunches. Only the must from the first press is used, which ferments spontaneously and matures for 12 months in old 500-litre oak barrels. The result is an unclarified, unfiltered wine with no added sulphur.
Taste
Strohmeier TLZ Lysegron stands out for its impeccable structure and the innate elegance of the Weissburgunder grape. Its aroma is reminiscent of Muscat and Gewürztraminer, with hints of flowers and dill. On the palate, it is as refreshing as a peach lemonade, with a beautiful acidity that makes it unforgettable.
