Description
Didier Dagueneau Pur Sang is a wine of great prestige, made in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, located in the Loire Valley, France. This wine is a masterpiece of the Domaine Didier Dagueneau winery, renowned for its commitment to biodynamic agriculture and respect for the environment. It is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes from vineyards that are between 25 and 60 years old, grown in soils rich in clay and limestone, which give the wine a deep minerality .
Winemaking
The vinification of Pur Sang follows traditional methods, with fermentation in French oak barrels and a prolonged ageing on lees of 11 to 12 months, which gives this wine a robust and complex character.
Taste
Pur Sang has a vibrant and refined aromatic profile. On the nose, notes of exotic fruits such as mango, passion fruit and nectarine stand out, combined with a distinctive mineral aroma, contributed by the chalky soils in which it is grown. These characteristics are interwoven with subtle hints of citrus and flint, providing great freshness. On the palate, the wine has great concentration and purity, with a vibrant acidity that provides balance and a silky texture. Despite its intensity, it maintains a remarkable elegance, with a lingering finish that reveals a fine salinity and light smoky notes, characteristic of the region's great Sauvignon Blancs.
