Description

In the heart of Galicia, where the Albariño vineyards cling to the granite slopes whipped by the Atlantic winds, Porta do Miño Licor de Hierbas is born, a liqueur that does not seek to follow fashions or shortcuts. It emerges as an authentic expression of the terroir and absolute respect for the raw material. It all begins after the grape harvest, when the Albariño grape skins - those noble remains that still preserve the soul of the wine - are carefully distilled to obtain a pure, transparent and highly aromatic spirit. It is not a by-product; it is a second life, a reinvention.

It was in a small cask room, surrounded by the aroma of freshly distilled pomace, that the creators of Porta do Miño Licor de Hierbas made a decision that would mark its character: to use only their own eaux-de-vie, without blending or concessions, and to give them a new soul through a slow and prolonged maceration with a precise selection of twelve herbs. Among them, camomile, mint, coriander, nutmeg, liquorice and sage add layers of complexity, but also a quiet elegance that reveals patience and wisdom.

Winemaking

The key to Porta do Miño Licor de Hierbas lies in its meticulous process. After obtaining the Albariño marc spirits by careful distillation, just the right amount of sugar is added to bring balance without masking the original character of the distillate. The liquor then undergoes a long maceration with the twelve selected herbs, allowing each plant to slowly release its essential oils and compose a unique aromatic symphony.

Once the maceration is complete, the liqueur is stabilised at a low temperature, thus preserving its freshness and vivacity. Finally, it undergoes a rigorous quality control before bottling.

Taste

Porta do Miño Licor de Hierbas has a greenish yellow colour, bright and clean, like a ray of sunlight filtered through leaves. On the nose, it displays enveloping fragrances of fresh camomile and a whisper of orange blossom, supported by the vibrant character of the eau-de-vie. The palate is unctuous, full and round, with a silky texture that caresses the palate. The sweetness is subtle, always in balance, leaving a long, delicate and fresh finish.
