There are wines that seem to be made to break the rules. To remind us that nature, when respected, is capable of offering us wild, unpredictable and profoundly beautiful pleasures. Thus was born Partida Creus Vinel-lo Ancestral White, a sparkling wine out of the catalogue, vibrant and full of life, born of a clear and almost rebellious vision: that of Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa, an Italian couple who one day left architecture and design behind to listen to the whisper of the old vines of the Baix Penedès. They did not come to this land looking for fame or prestigious labels. They came with the firm conviction to recover forgotten varieties, to vinify with absolute respect, and to let the grape -and not the ego- speak.
Winemaking
Partida Creus Vinel-lo Ancestral White is a true jewel born from an alchemy of Mediterranean varieties: Garnacha Blanca, Macabeu, Moscatel, Vinyater, Xarel-lo, Parsé and Parellada. Old vines, organically grown, in warm, well-drained soils that capture the soul of the Catalan sun and the sea breeze. The grapes are pressed directly, without adornment or intervention, and ferment at a controlled temperature with their own yeasts, those that come from the field, from the hands, from the air. The miracle is completed in the bottle, where fermentation is completed at its own pace, unhurried, and the wine rests for ten months on its fine lees, gaining texture, complexity and that point of mystery that only authentic wines possess.
