Description

This project, which began almost as a romantic adventure between two Italian architects and an abandoned farmhouse in the Penedès, is now an essential reference point for natural wine in Catalonia. Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori let themselves be conquered by the forgotten old vines in this area of the Baix Penedès and, with an almost archaeological sensibility, they began to recover them one by one. Thus Partida Creus was born, a winery that works with native varieties that are often forgotten, under a clear premise: minimum intervention, maximum expression of the grape and the landscape.

Partida Creus GB Garnacha Blanca, in the hands of Antonella and Massimo, is not just one more. Here it becomes a firm, direct and free voice, which speaks without filters of its Mediterranean origin. Grown in a completely natural way, without chemicals or irrigation, this grape is harvested by hand in sunny plots of clay and limestone soils, exposed to the sea breezes of the Garraf that temper the heat and bring freshness. A white variety with body and character, which in this version is more lively, wilder and more honest than ever.

Winemaking

Spontaneous fermentation begins unhurriedly, in stainless steel tanks and with indigenous yeasts that come directly from the vineyard. There are no additives, no corrections, no prefabricated recipes. Just the must and time. After that, Partida Creus GB Garnacha Blanca is left for at least eight months on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks, with no fillers or manipulations: it is left to breathe, to transform at its own pace.

Taste

At first sip, Partida Creus GB Garnacha Blanca is like opening a window onto the Mediterranean: notes of citrus peel, raw almond and a salinity that caresses the palate. It has body, yes, but also an electric tension that keeps it in balance. The finish is dry, ample, with a tactile sensation reminiscent of the wind on the skin after a swim in the sea. It is a wine that you don't explain, you feel it. And once you do, it is difficult to forget it.
