Description
Movia Veliko Rdeče is a red wine from the region of Goriška Brda (ZGP Brda), located on the Slovenian side of the Collio region, made from the varieties: 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Pinot Noir. These grapes are harvested by hand in the Veliko vineyard.
Winemaking
After harvesting and hand sorting in the vineyard, the grapes are destemmed and then pumped into a fermentation tank, where fermentation is started by indigenous yeasts. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is left for an additional week in contact with the skins before the skins are devatted and pressed. 72 months of ageing is carried out with the three varieties in 225-litre French oak barrels.
Taste
Movia Veliko Rdeče is a smooth, ample and lively wine. Its youthful acidity refreshes our mouth leaving it with a velvety grip of tannins. It is a wine of character and intensity, with a noble elegance and a long aftertaste. Flavours of black cherries, ripe plums, dried red flowers and sweet spices express themselves on the palate for a long time. It is a powerful wine that already offers us much pleasure, but will continue to develop its potential and elegance for at least the next decade. It is ideal with complex meat or game dishes. Its fruitiness will be an ally here, and at the same time, the tannins combine pleasantly with the juiciness of the dish. A wine for haute cuisine!
