Description
The Marzagana Higa wine is an oenological jewel that comes from the Finca La Marzagana in Tenerife. This wine is made from 100% Listán Negro grapes, grown in a sustainable, organic and biodynamic way.
Winemaking
Harvesting is done by hand, and the grapes are macerated for 8 days, followed by a 21-day fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then transferred to chestnut barrels where it ages for 9 months. This process is carried out with no additives or sulphites added, resulting in a totally natural product. Furthermore, the wine is neither filtered nor clarified, thus maintaining its original purity. Marzagana Higa 's production philosophy focuses on biodiversity and natural winemaking, following the principles of biodynamic and organic winemaking.
Taste
Marzagana Higa is characterised by its distinctive and complex flavour. On the nose, it presents a bouquet of ripe red fruits such as cherry and strawberry, complemented by notes of blackberry and a touch of oak. On the palate, there is an interesting balance between sweet and dry, with hints of plum, hazelnut and raspberry. This wine is known for its light acidity which gives it a unique freshness, despite its somewhat tannic character. Spontaneous fermentation and the absence of filtration contribute to its robust body and long finish, making each sip a pleasurable and memorable experience.
