Description
Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva is a wine from the Rioja region, made mainly from Tempranillo ( 90%) and Graciano (10%) grapes. This wine is produced from selected vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, an area known for its optimal conditions for growing these varieties.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of October. Fermentation takes place in 30,000 kg vats at a temperature of 28ºC, followed by a two-week maceration. Ageing is carried out for more than 30 months in French and American oak barrels, with quarterly rackings to maintain the wine's cleanliness without the need for aggressive filtration. Subsequently, the wine is aged for a minimum of three years in the bottle before being released onto the market.
Taste
Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva has a bright cherry red colour with russet tones at the edges. On the nose, it shows a high aromatic intensity, with complex notes of coffee, vanilla, roasted and balsamic, on a background of ripe fruit. On the palate, it is elegant and round, with a velvety entry that gives way to a pleasant acidity and a silky and enveloping finish due to its noble and ripe tannins. The aftertaste is long, leaving hints of spices, balsamic and candied fruit.
Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva stands out for its balance and sophistication, being an excellent choice to pair with dishes such as roast beef, sirloin steak with foie, Iberian cold meats, powerful stews or cured cheeses.
