Description
The wine Goyo García Viñas de Arcilla is a dark red wine with a fruity aroma, quite fine and long. This wine is made organically, with minimal intervention and without adding sulphites.
Clays predominate in the soil of the 100 year old vineyard, where the grapes used for its production are grown. Its creator, the winegrower Goyo García Viadero, is recognised inside and outside the country as one of the main promoters of the production of natural wines.
Winemaking
The Goyo García Viñas de Arcilla wine is made with Albillo and Tempranillo grapes grown in a vineyard located in Burgos, where clay and red sand soils predominate. The vines are about 100 years old.
The grapes are harvested by hand, then fermented with indigenous yeasts, macerated for three months and finally aged in used French oak barrels.
Finally, they are refined in the bottle for a couple of years without stabilisation, filtering or fining, nor are sulphites added.
Taste
The red wine Goyo García Viñas de Arcilla is fresh, silky and ripe, with a dense aroma of stewed fruit. It also has a red fruit flavour with earthy, floral and herbal notes. It is a dense, medium-bodied wine, although quite fresh and balsamic.
A red wine of height
The natural wine Goyo García Viñas de Arcilla should be served at 16°C to accompany beef, lamb, game meats such as venison, and blue fish. The grapes used to make this wine come from an estate with clay soil located at an altitude of 810 metres above sea level, hence its name.
