Description
Goliardo Espadeiro is a red wine from the Bodega Forjas del Salnés under the Rías Baixas denomination of origin.
This limited-production wine has been crafted from Espadeiro grapes, an almost extinct native variety that comes from vines planted between 45 and 180 years of age, cultivated on pebbly, sandy and granitic soils.
Winemaking
Goliardo Espadeiro is a single varietal of native grapes produced under the direction of Rodrigo Méndez and Raúl Pérez.
The winemaking process begins with a manual harvest and selection. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks. Once this procedure is completed, malolactic fermentation takes place in used French oak barrels, where the Goliardo Espadeiro red wine remains for an ageing period of 12 months.
At the end of the ageing time in wood, this wine rests for a few months in the cellar of the winery before being released on the market.
Taste
A crianza red wine with a fresh, fruity, smooth, light and characterful entry. The palate is fast, defined by an excellent acidity and very well assembled tannins. It has a pleasant, long finish with balsamic nuances.
A very different wine, with an Atlantic character.
