The more classical red 2020 Crianza is quite impressive for the vintage. It is a bright ruby color and has an expressive nose redolent of flowers, wild herbs and spices and a medium-bodied palate with a fine thread, very fine tannins and a supple finish. It was produced with a blend of 74% Tempranillo from the Sierra Cantabria and 25% Garnacha from Badarán, bottled with 14% alcohol and a pH of 3.65. It matured in 225-liter oak barrels, 85% of them French and 15% American. Truly delicious. 150,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023.

Description
Gómez Cruzado Crianza is a red wine that has been elaborated with two varieties of grapes tempranillo and garnacha by Bodegas y Viñedos Gómez Cruzado. The Tempranillo comes from vineyards located in the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria and vineyards adjacent to the lower course of the Najerilla River and the Garnacha from the upper Najerilla area in the D.O. La Rioja.
The composition of the soils in the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria is clayey-calcareous, alluvial in the lower course of the Najerilla and clayey-ferrous in the upper Najerilla.
On the other hand, in the gastronomic field, this red wine is the ideal companion for legumes, roasted red meats and stews.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in 200 kg boxes and the bunches are selected in the winery. On arrival at the winery, the grapes undergo 3 days of cold pre-fermentation maceration, with daily pumping over and delestage during fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel truncated cone-shaped tanks.
Aging of 12 months takes place in mostly American oak barrels.
Taste
Gómez Cruzado Crianza is tasty, fresh and with excellent fruit aromas. It is a velvety red wine, very easy to drink, with an elegant and fluid palate and round tannins.
