Description
Disznókö Tokaji Late Harvest is an exquisite sample of the Tokaj winemaking tradition, a region renowned for its sweet and complex wines. This particular wine is composed of 91% Furmint and 9% Hárslevelű.
Winemaking
Two thirds of the bunches were pressed directly, while the rest were destemmed followed by a brief skin contact before pressing. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine matured in oak barrels of two or three wines with a capacity of 225 litres for 6 months in the traditional Tokaj underground cellar.
Taste
Disznókö Tokaji Late Harvest has a golden yellow colour. The nose is intensely fruity, with aromas of apricot, nectarine and citrus notes. The palate is rich, with crisp acidity and fresh fruit flavours. It has an upright structure, but is enveloping and with a good length.
This wine is not only a pleasure for the palate, but it is also versatile in terms of food pairing. It is the perfect aperitif, either on its own or with appetizers. It is best enjoyed chilled, between 11-13°C, and is ideal with such snacks as Serrano ham, olives, sun-dried tomato, pâté on toast, seafood main courses, fish, chicken and lightly spiced dishes, goat's cheese and fruit-based desserts. Although it is ready to drink from the moment it is bottled, it can be kept and enjoyed for the next five years.
