Description
Ceretto Barolo wine originates from the prestigious Piedmont wine region in Italy. This wine is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, an indigenous variety that has gained worldwide recognition for its ability to produce red wines of great character and complexity. The location of the vineyard, situated between the hamlet of Baudana and the village of Serralunga d'Alba, is undoubtedly one of the best exposed plots of land on the eastern side of the municipality. With a south/south-east orientation and altitudes varying between 270 and 380 metres above sea level, the soil of this vineyard is rich in silt and clay, which gives the wines a rare incisiveness.
Winemaking
It all starts with a careful selection of grapes which are harvested in October. Vinification is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over a period of 12 to 16 days, using automated and computerised pumping-over and punch-down systems. Subsequently, the wine is aged in 1,600-litre French oak foudres and some small 400-litre Allier barrels for 36 months. Before release, the wine benefits from an additional bottle ageing of at least 8 months.
Taste
Ceretto Barolo has an intense ruby red colour with orange reflections. On the nose, it displays delicate aromas of rose and violet that linger and seduce. On the palate, it is a wine that reflects the typicality of Barolo: velvety, dry, powerful and persistent. It is a wine that is produced only during the best years, which guarantees its high quality and exceptionality.
This Barolo is perfect to accompany red meats, cured cheeses and pasta with meat sauces.
