Features

Description

Cascina Tavijn Vino Rosso comes from the hills of Monferrato in the province of Asti, Italy. This wine is a blend of 80% Barbera and 20% Freisa, two grape varieties indigenous to the Piedmont region.

Winemaking

After the grapes are harvested by hand from young vines planted on the sandy and calcareous clay soils in Szurzolengo, the grapes are completely destemmed and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and two months of maceration in tanks begins. After pressing, the wine is aged for 8 months in Slovenian oak barrels before being bottled unfiltered, unclarified and without added sulphur.

Taste

Cascina Tavijn Vino Rosso presents fruit aromas of blueberry and plum, followed by notes of crushed rose and mulch. On the palate, flavours of dark chocolate and brownie batter are revealed. An honest, rustic wine full of character, reflecting the Verrua family's passion and commitment to viticulture.
