The pale and delicate red 2021 Sumoll was compared to a Barolo and Mencía by Carlos Esteva, who likes a soft extraction to avoid excessive rusticity in the wine. It's floral and perfumed, delicate and fresh, with some spiciness, moderate alcohol and a palate with lots of energy and plenty of tannins, able to take powerful food and to develop in bottle. It has 12% alcohol and a pH of 3.07 (even after malolactic) and spent six months in chestnut barrels. 2,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2022.
