Description
Bosque de Matasnos Edición Limitada is a wine that embodies the essence of Ribera del Duero, produced by the winery of the same name, located in Peñaranda de Duero, Burgos. This red wine is made exclusively from Tempranillo (100%), coming from vineyards located at an altitude of 950 metres above sea level. The sandy-clay-loam soils, poor in organic matter, together with the continental climate of the region, give the wine a unique personality.
Winemaking
In Bosque de Matasnos Edición Limitada, the grapes are harvested by hand in 10 kg boxes, ensuring the integrity of the grapes until they reach the winery. After a meticulous selection, the grapes undergo a cold maceration to extract the desired aromas and colours. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out at controlled temperatures, followed by malolactic fermentation in new 225-litre French oak barrels. The wine ages for 12 months in these barrels, and then rests in the bottle to refine its qualities before being released onto the market.
Taste
Bosque de Matasnos Edición Limitada has a bright and intense cherry red colour, with a high robe. On the nose, it displays a high aromatic intensity, with notes of ripe black fruit such as plums, accompanied by balsamic and spicy nuances, including clove and incense. On the palate, it offers a fine entry, with a silky texture and elegant tannins. The red fruit flavours integrate harmoniously with hints of clove and vanilla, culminating in a long, elegant finish.
Bosque de Matasnos Edición Limitada is ideal with roasted red meats, stews, baked lamb, oily fish, cheeses and cured meats, enhancing the gastronomic experience with its complexity and balance.
