The non-vintage Anna Brut (disgorged December 2011) is a blend of 70% Chardonnay, 15% Parellada and 15% Xarello and Macabeu. There is a touch of flint on the crisp, green apple and grapefruit-scented bouquet. The palate is crisp and taut on the entry; minimalist with a crisp Granny Smith apple and citrus lemon finish that shows a little more length than the Brut Nature. The following three wines are due for release in summer 2012 and will be sold as a three-pack for around $150.00. There will be further disgorgements, but I tasted those disgorged on February 29, 2012.

Description
Since its creation in 1984, Anna Codorníu Blanc de Blancs Brut Reserva has become a symbol of contemporary elegance in the world of Cava. It was the first sparkling wine of the house to incorporate the Chardonnay grape, a groundbreaking decision for the time, which marked the beginning of a new way of understanding tradition. Named after Anna, the last heiress of the Codorníu family who linked the history of the winery with the Raventós surname, this Cava reflects its innovative and refined spirit. Anna Codorníu Blanc de Blancs Brut Reserva combines 70% Chardonnay with classic Penedès varieties - Parellada, Xarel.lo and Macabeo - to clearly express the character of the land. The grapes grow in calcareous and clay soils, under a Mediterranean climate with continental influences, which provides thermal amplitude and balanced ripening. The result is a Cava born of respect for the vineyard and a constant search for freshness and finesse.
Winemaking
Each variety is vinified separately after a night harvest that preserves the aromas as much as possible. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature to preserve clean fruity notes. After blending, the base wine of Anna Codorníu Blanc de Blancs Brut Reserva undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle and is aged on the lees for more than 15 months, providing unctuousness and complexity. After that, the wine is disgorged and a very moderate expedition liqueur is added, maintaining the house's brut and fresh style. The process is carried out entirely in Codorníu's historic underground cellars.
Taste
Pale yellow in colour with greenish reflections, the bubbles of Anna Codorníu Blanc de Blancs Brut Reserva are fine and persistent. On the nose it displays notes of green apple, pear and citrus, with subtle hints of pastries and dried fruit that betray its ageing. On the palate, Anna Codorníu Blanc de Blancs Brut Reserva is creamy, fresh and elegant, with a well-integrated acidity that lengthens the palate. There are hints of candied lemon, brioche and a slightly mineral finish. It is a versatile and gastronomic Cava, ideal to accompany everything from seafood and rice dishes to white meats and soft desserts. A sparkling wine with a refined soul and surprising persistence.
