Description
Agustí Torelló Gran Reserva Barrica Brut Nature is an exceptional cava that comes from the area of origin Valls d'Anoia-Foix, in the Counties of Barcelona. This superior cellaring cava is Brut Nature, organic and hand-harvested, with vegan certification. It stands out for its 100% Macabeo varietal, coming from the Pla dels Fidels plot, planted in 1964 at 150 metres above sea level in the Penedés Valley.
Winemaking
The elaboration of this cava is meticulous and environmentally friendly. Our own yeasts are used and the wine is fermented in French oak barrels for 6 months with our own selected yeasts before the harvest. This process guarantees the maximum natural expression of the Macabeo grape and its soil of origin. The wine is aged in the bottle with its lees for 4 years in the semi-darkness of the cellars, at a constant natural temperature of 17 degrees.
Taste
Agustí Torelló Gran Reserva Barrica Brut Nature offers a final impression of marked varietal character. Aromas of long ageing, ripe white fruit, baked apple, toast and brioche are perceived. On the palate, it is creamy, glyceric and has a singular and unique structure. This cava is ideal for gastronomic pairings, being optimal for fatty dishes such as foie gras, risotto, acorn-fed ham, smoked meats, oysters, seafood, meats, sauced fish and cured cheeses. The alcohol content is 12% vol., and the total acidity (tartaric) is 5.9 gr/l, with no added sugar. This cava is an excellent choice to enjoy on special occasions and to pair with a variety of exquisite dishes.
