Description
AMI Volnay is a red wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir in the Burgundy region by the Domaine AMI winery under the appellation Volnay, in the Côte d'Or (AOC).
The Pinot Noir grapes come from old organic vineyards planted on clay and limestone soils located at 230-280 metres above sea level.
These vineyards have been farmed organically and without the use of chemicals or herbicides to ensure the natural balance of the terroir.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, selecting the best grapes. The grapes are then fermented with indigenous yeasts in open stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (32 °C).
This wine is aged for 18 months, 25% of the wine in new French oak barrels and the remaining 75% in used barrels.
At the time of bottling, no fining, filtration or additives are carried out with the main objective of creating a quality wine.
Taste
AMI Volnay is a smooth red wine with fruity aromas, floral notes and spicy hints. The palate is rich, sweet and enveloping. An easy-drinking wine with a refreshing acidity and marked tannins.

AMI Volnay can be considered the most feminine of Burgundy wines. It is delicate, velvety, but with great aromatic intensity. An ideal wine to celebrate a great friendship.
The appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) Volnay is only used for red wine with Pinot noir as the main grape variety.
In gastronomic terms, this is a suitable wine for a dinner with friends or a romantic dinner and will perfectly accompany roast pork dishes, charcuterie, roast red meat and roast lamb.
