Description
46 Cepas Merlot is a red wine that has been crafted from the Merlot grape variety by the Bodega Alfredo Maestro winery in Peñafiel in Valladolid, under the Castilla y León appellation.
The Merlot grape variety comes from a vineyard located in Bocos de Duero in Valladolid on the banks of the Duero River.
This vineyard has been planted on a sandy loam soil, with pebbles and low water and nutrient retention at 755 metres above sea level.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, trying not to break the skins. The grapes are selected in the vineyard and in the winery, on a selection table. When the grapes are destemmed, maceration is carried out for 12 to 15 days. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in 1000-litre stainless steel tanks, where the wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation.
The wine is aged for 4 months in stainless steel tanks. This wine is neither clarified nor filtered.

46 Cepas Merlot is a red wine that is fruity, structured and frank. The nose is intense, dominated by fruity aromas and spicy touches. In the mouth it is pleasant, medium-bodied, easy to drink and tasty.
