I also tasted the 2022 Lalo - Chupadero, a year with a little more rain that allowed the vineyard to recover and they were able to pick 4,000 kilos of grapes. The wine has a little more Listán Negro than Negramoll because of the yields with Negramoll in a warm climate, and it was vinified with full clusters and matured in concrete instead of barrel. There is a balsamic and medicinal note—it was reductive during the élevage—and an earthy touch of shaded forest floor. It's nicely textured and balanced, with very fine tannins, and there is more concentration than in the 2021. Around 3,000 bottles were filled in early August 2023.
