Description
Originating from the prestigious Piedmont region of Italy, Roagna Langhe Solea is a white wine that stands out for its uniqueness and exquisiteness. This wine is a unique blend, composed mainly of Chardonnay grapes, which have grown on vines that are approximately 30 years old. However, what really distinguishes this wine is the small addition of Nebbiolo, a variety typically associated with robust reds. The grapes for the Solea come specifically from the Pira cru in Castiglione Falletto, a testament to the Roagna family's meticulous selection.
Winemaking
Fermentation is carried out for ten days in neutral toasted oak barrels, using the well-known pied de vat with indigenous yeasts. Subsequently, the wine is aged in these same barrels for approximately two years. This ageing in French oak gives the wine an unequalled complexity and character. It is important to note that the production of this wine is limited, with just over 1,000 bottles produced each vintage, making it a real gem for wine lovers.
Taste
Roagna Langhe Solea is a perfect expression of the fusion of Chardonnay and Nebbiolo. When tasting it, sweet floral notes can be appreciated, giving a charming width to the bouquet. Its texture is soft and enveloping, making Solea extremely expressive. Orchard fruit aromas are complemented by a perfect balance, and what is really surprising is the distinctive structural touch of Nebbiolo that frames the finish.
