Description
Rietsch's Zotzenberg Riesling Grand Cru is a delicately fruity dry white wine made from Riesling grapes, which has been described as one of the best in the sector.
It is an example that is defined as complex, with a pronounced level of acidity, but which balances perfectly with the floral tones that also determine it.
It is a wine made following the philosophy of the Rietsch winery, accentuating even more the natural processes at each stage, as the aim is to denote the pure expression of the grape.
Winemaking
The elaboration of this wine begins with the cultivation of the grapes, applying duly certified artisan techniques. After reaching the optimum point of ripeness, the grapes are harvested by hand.
Fermentation is also carried out naturally, using indigenous yeasts and without adding any type of chemical that could alter the taste or texture of the wine.
Then, it undergoes a malolactic fermentation in order to minimise the wine's acidity level, followed by a 22-month maceration in contact with its lees, using stainless steel barrels.
Finally, the wine undergoes a clarifying filtration process on cellulose plates.

Rietsch Zotzenberg Riesling Grand Cru has a balanced and powerful aroma of ripe fruit. On the palate, it is usually dry, complex and with a pronounced degree of acidity. It lingers on the palate for a long time.
