Description
Petit Caus White is a wine that invites to be enjoyed at any time of the day. This young white wine, belonging to the Penedès DO, is a creation of the Can Ràfols dels Caus winery, located in Catalonia.
The estate, with records dating back to 992, is located in the Garraf Massif, at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level. Here, on staggered slopes, the 90 hectares of vineyards are planted with around 28 varieties of grapes. The dominant variety is Xarel-lo, but other varieties are also incorporated in its production.
Winemaking
Petit Caus White is composed of 70% Xarel-lo, 20% Macabeo and 10% of other white varieties present on the estate. This wine is made by fermenting the varieties separately at a controlled temperature for 20 days in stainless steel and cement tanks.
Taste
Petit Caus Blanco has a straw yellow colour with greenish tints. It is expressive on the nose, revealing aromas of white flowers and fresh fruit, both yellow and white. When tasted, it is light but juicy, with notes of lemon, orange and pear. It has a sapid finish, which invites you to repeat and continue enjoying its flavour.
Despite its low acidity, this wine is fresh and slightly saline, with a slight bitterness that invites you to continue drinking.
