Description

In an old restored farmhouse in the Baix Penedès, where the sea wind caresses the vines and the chalky soil tells stories of abandonment and rediscovery, Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa-acouple of Italian architects turned radical winegrowers-resurrect forgotten varieties with an almost mystical fervour. Theirs is not nostalgia, but an act of resistance: recovering ancestral grape varieties such as Moscatel (the variety that gives "SK" its name) and vinifying it with a minimum of intervention, letting the land speak without filters or make-up.

Partida Creus SK is the fruit of this rebellious philosophy. It comes from old vineyards cultivated organically, in poor soils with a clay and limestone texture, where the grapes suffer just enough to concentrate their character. There are no concessions to fashion or complacency here: only native grapes, Mediterranean climate and a radically honest vision of wine.

Winemaking

The grapes are carefully destemmed, but then left in contact with their skins for a full eight months, in a gesture that is almost unheard of in the world of light or glou-glou wines. This long maceration allows for a slow, measured extraction, where tannins and aromatic compounds blend with surprising delicacy. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, using only indigenous yeasts present on the grape skins and in the winery's atmosphere. There are no additions, corrections or severe filtering. After fermentation, the wine remains in the same tanks for a further eight months, stabilising naturally, without oenological intervention.

Taste

The first thing that surprises in Partida Creus SK is its perfume: a citric and floral explosion, with notes of dried orange peel, orange blossom and a subtle background of black tea and apricot skin. There's an aromatic tension between sweet and earthy that's gripping. It is not exuberant, but deeply expressive, like a whisper that lingers.

On the palate, it is full-bodied and textured thanks to the long maceration with skins. A slight astringency adds structure, while vibrant citrus acidity stretches the wine towards a dry, saline, lingering finish. Nuances of stone fruit, candied citrus peel and a delicate bitterness of Mediterranean herbs such as thyme and camomile build a narrative of freshness and depth.

Partida Creus SK is not a consensus wine. It is a commitment to identity, reinterpreted tradition and raw materials. An orange wine without artifice, complex, rebellious and absolutely alive.
