Rioja, where the chalky soils and a climate influenced by the Atlantic winds contribute to the concentration and richness of the grapes. Tempranillo, in its maximum expression, is the chosen variety 100%, standing out for its character and depth.
Winemaking
The winemaking process of Marqués de Riscal Frank Gehry Selection begins with a meticulously selected harvest, ensuring only the best grapes. These are fermented in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, preceded by a 24-hour cold maceration to intensify the flavours. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French barrels, where the wine rests for two years, adding complexity to every drop.
