Description
Marcel Lapierre Morgon Cuvée Camille is an outstanding wine from the Morgon region of Beaujolais, France. This wine is made exclusively from Gamay grapes, known for their ability to produce wines with complex aromatic profiles and vibrant acidity. The vineyard is located on the western slopes of the Côte du Py, one of the most prestigious areas of the Morgon appellation.
Winemaking
Harvesting is done by hand to ensure the quality of the grapes, and the wine is fermented using indigenous yeasts. Ageing takes place in previously used 216-litre oak barrels, which allows for a subtle integration of the oak notes without dominating the fruity aromas of the wine.
Taste
Marcel Lapierre Morgon Cuvée Camille is characterised by its remarkable intensity and finesse. On the nose, it displays a combination ofbaking spices, red and black cassis, and blackberries, complemented by a floral touch of lilac petals. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with a vibrant fruit profile featuring notes of red plums and tart elderberry. The tannins are polished but present, promising good evolution in bottle. As the fruit fades, subtle traces of fennel emerge, while the wine's rounded body tightens with a crisp salinity that intensifies on the finish.
