Description
La Viñuela is a red wine of exceptional quality, made by Alfredo Maestro Tejero. This wine is a blend of 50% Tinto Fino and 50% Garnacha, coming from vineyards planted in 1940 in Titulcia-Chinchón, Madrid. The altitude of these vineyards is 830 metres, which contributes to the unique characteristics of the wine. La Viñuela stands out for its organic viticulture practice, avoiding the use of chemicals such as herbicides and pesticides, and is not irrigated even in times of water stress. This natural approach allows the wine to clearly express the terroir from which it comes.
Winemaking
The winemaking process at La Viñuela follows a meticulous process. The grapes are harvested by hand and the grapes are destemmed and crushed immediately after picking. Fermentation is carried out with wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks, with a maceration of 15 days. The wine is then aged for 12 months in second year French oak barrels, which gives it additional complexity and structure. Production is limited, with only 400 bottles produced, which makes La Viñuela an even more special wine.
Taste
La Viñuela is a wine that surprises with every sip. On the nose, it offers an aromatic explosion reminiscent of pastries, with notes of vanilla and cinnamon, and evolves towards nuances of olives in oil sauce and sweet vinegar. Its dense red colour, with brownish tones, reflects its maturity and complexity. In the mouth, it is sweet but short-lived, stimulating the salivation of its balanced sweetness. It leaves a soft velvety touch that remains unobtrusive, resulting in a very pleasant and elegant taste experience.
