Description
La Nieta is a red wine made only with Tempranillo grapes by the Viñedos de Páganos winery in La Rioja.
This tempranillo grape variety comes from the vineyard planted in 1975 at Finca La Nieta in Páganos-Laguardia at an altitude of 525 metres above sea level on clay-limestone soils.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, under a rigorous selection process, both in the vineyard and in the winery. The winemaking process is traditional, with a pre-fermentation maceration for about 5 days at a temperature of 6°C, and gentle pumping over and light aeration during this phase.
Fermentation is carried out in small oak vats of 10 hectolitres capacity with indigenous yeasts from the vineyards themselves and malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. This wine is aged for 18 long months in new French oak barrels.
Taste
La Nieta has an intense fruity, floral and spicy expression. This is a red wine, structured and with a perfect balance, good acidity, fresh and with noble tannins.
It is a little jewel that comes from a very special vineyard.
La Nieta comes from a vineyard worked with the minimum intervention of integrated viticulture, respectful of the environment and reflecting the effort of work adapted to the biorhythms of nature.
In the gastronomic field, it combines perfectly with foods such as white meats, grilled lamb, feathered game, etc.
